Charlisse Leger-Walker to Redshirt at UCLA
UCLA guard Charlisse Leger-Walker will redshirt this season as she continues to recover from a torn ACL. Leger-Walker tore her ACL on Jan. 28 against UCLA while playing for her former team, Washington State. She transferred to UCLA that spring following surgery.
UCLA coach Cori Close expressed excitement for her future, saying, “Although we would prefer her to be fully healthy and playing with us right now, we are really excited to announce that Charlisse will be coming back for another year. She will be redshirting this year, but we’re very excited for our Bruin fans to see her for the entire 2025-26 season.”
Leger-Walker, who spent the first four years of her collegiate career at Washington State, has built an impressive resume. She was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2021, the Pac-12 Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player in 2023, a four-time All-Pac-12 selection and a two-time WBCA All-American honorable mention selection with WNBA potential.
