Head-to-Head Player Comparison

DRAFT DAY TRADES

No trades were made during the 2025 WNBA Draft, but one notable move happened the day before.

On April 13, the Chicago Sky acquired the No. 11 overall pick from the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for Chicago’s 2026 first-round pick. The deal also eliminated Minnesota’s previously held right to swap first-rounders with Chicago in 2026. Chicago used the No. 11 pick to select Hailey Van Lith.

TEAM-BY-TEAM DRAFT RECAP
ATLANTA DREAM

Despite not having a first-round pick, the Atlanta Dream got great value by selecting Te-Hina Paopao and Taylor Thierry in the later rounds. Paopao, a sharpshooting guard from South Carolina, adds elite shooting, while Thierry, a defensive standout from Ohio State, brings versatility and defensive toughness, giving the Dream two solid late-round picks.

CHICAGO SKY

The Chicago Sky targeted shooting, selecting Hailey Van Lith, a dynamic scoring guard from TCU, and Ajša Sivka, a versatile forward from Slovenia. Van Lith brings offensive firepower, while Sivka adds floor-spacing ability, strengthening the Sky’s perimeter game. Maddy Westbeld provides additional shooting as a stretch big, while Aicha Coulibaly offers good upside.

CONNECTICUT SUN

The Connecticut Sun selected Aneesah Morrow and Saniya Rivers in the first round, adding scoring and versatility. In the second round, they picked Rayah Marshall, who brings size and rebounding to their frontcourt.

DALLAS WINGS

The Dallas Wings selected Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick to pair with Arike Ogunbowale in the backcourt. They also added Aziaha James, Madison Scott, JJ Quinerly, and Aaronette Vonleh, bringing a well-rounded mix of scoring, defense, and post skills.

GOLDEN STATE VALKYRIES

In their first-ever WNBA Draft, the Valkyries selected Justė Jocytė with the No. 5 pick to add scoring and playmaking. They also picked Shyanne Sellers and Kaitlyn Chen in later rounds, bringing versatility and depth to their backcourt. Their selections raised some eyebrows, but time will tell how they pan out.

INDIANA FEVER

The Indiana Fever was another team without a first-round pick but may have landed the steal of the draft in Makayla Timpson, a defensive star from Florida State. They also selected Bree Hall and Yvonne Ejim, adding shooting and depth to their roster.

LAS VEGAS ACES

Despite forfeiting their first-round pick, the Las Vegas Aces found great value in the 2025 WNBA Draft, selecting Aaliyah Nye, a sharpshooting wing from Alabama, in the second round. They also picked Harmoni Turner, a dynamic guard from Harvard, in the third round.

LOS ANGELES SPARKS

The Los Angeles Sparks made some interesting choices in the 2025 WNBA Draft, clearly prioritizing toughness with their selections. They picked Sarah Ashlee Barker, a physical guard from Alabama, in the first round, followed by Sania Feagin and Liatu King in the later rounds.

MINNESOTA LYNX

The Minnesota Lynx didn’t need much in the 2025 WNBA Draft but added Anastasiia Olairi Kosu, a young international prospect who could be a draft-and-stash candidate. Dalayah Daniels and Aubrey Griffin are solid pickups, adding depth.

NEW YORK LIBERTY

The New York Liberty also didn’t need much in the 2025 WNBA Draft but used their lone pick—and the final pick of the draft—to select Adja Kane, a promising 20-year-old forward from France, at No. 37. Kane brings length, athleticism, and versatility, making her a likely draft-and-stash candidate as she continues her development overseas.

PHOENIX MERCURY

The Phoenix Mercury did not have any picks in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

SEATTLE STORM

The Seattle Storm put together a solid haul in the 2025 WNBA Draft, selecting Dominique Malonga, a 6’6″ forward, with the No. 2 overall pick to bolster their frontcourt. They also added Serena Sundell, Madison Conner, and Jordan Hobbs in later rounds, bringing shooting, playmaking, and depth to their roster.

WASHINGTON MYSTICS

The Washington Mystics had a stellar 2025 WNBA Draft, maximizing their picks to bring in top-tier talent. They selected Sonia Citron at No. 3 and Kiki Iriafen at No. 4. They also picked up Georgia Amoore, Lucy Olsen, and Zaay Green in later rounds, rounding out a well-rounded class with playmaking and scoring depth.
