DRAFT DAY TRADES
No trades were made during the 2024 WNBA Draft, but one notable move happened the day before.
The Minnesota Lynx acquired the No. 8 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, the right to exchange first-round picks in the 2026 WNBA Draft, a second-round pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and forward Sika Koné from the Chicago Sky. Chicago will receive Minnesota’s No. 7 pick in the 2024 draft and the rights to forward Nikolina Milić.

ATLANTA DREAM
With three international selections, the Atlanta Dream focused on the future by drafting Nyadiew Puoch, Isobel Borlase, and Matilde Villa. Puoch, an athletic forward from Australia, brings elite defensive potential, while Borlase, a skilled guard also from Australia, adds three-level scoring. CHICAGO SKY
With two top-ten picks, the Chicago Sky completely rebuilt their frontcourt by selecting Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese, and later added shooter Brynna Maxwell. Cardoso, a center from South Carolina, brings size and shot-altering ability, while Reese, a tenacious forward from LSU, provides rebounding and physicality, giving the Sky a foundational and franchise-altering rookie class. CONNECTICUT SUN
With a flurry of picks starting late in the first round, the Connecticut Sun added a diverse set of skills by selecting Leïla Lacan, Taiyanna Jackson, Helena Pueyo, and Abbey Hsu. Lacan, a defensive guard from France, brings long-term playmaking potential, while Jackson provides immediate interior shot-blocking. DALLAS WINGS
With a trio of selections, the Dallas Wings focused on rebuilding their backcourt by drafting Jacy Sheldon, Carla Leite, and Ashley Owusu. Holding the first overall pick, the Indiana Fever drafted Caitlin Clark and later added Celeste Taylor. Clark, the generational point guard from Iowa, brings three-point shooting and passing that immediately reshapes their offense, while Taylor, a tough guard from Ohio State, adds perimeter defense, giving the Fever new cornerstones to build around. LAS VEGAS ACES
Despite not having a first-round pick, the Las Vegas Aces added a variety of talent in the later rounds, selecting Kate Martin, Liz Kitley, Dyaisha Fair, and Angel Jackson. Martin, a high-IQ guard from Iowa, brings hustle and reliable shooting, while Kitley offers long-term post-scoring potential. With two of the top four picks, the Los Angeles Sparks landed two franchise cornerstones in Cameron Brink and Rickea Jackson, and later added wing McKenzie Forbes.
